Chihaya is a tall, beautiful and slim teenage girl with chest-length light brown hair that has bangs hanging over her forehead, dark brown eyes and full pink lips.

When she was 12 years old, she had short hair that was much like Taichi Mashima's current hair except that she had slightly shorter hair with her ears exposed that made her look like a tomboy and her hair grew longer (about shoulder-length) when she was in Junior High School.

Chihaya wears two outfits in two different places:


At school, she wears her uniform.
When she isn't at school, she wears fashionable hand-me-down clothes from Chitose Ayase (Chihaya's older sister).

She also wears Daddy Bear clothes, especially when she practices karuta.
